AFTER a shaky start preparations are coming together for this year’s Margaret River Agricultural Society Show on Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20.
With loss of some experienced and valued members of the Agricultural Society show committee and a very changed venue to work with, it has been a baptism of fire for new president. Kylie Kennaugh who has worked very hard to pull everything together to present the community with an exciting and interesting event.
The society welcomed some new members to the Committee who brought new ideas and a new dynamic to planning this year’s show.
Donna Norris is in charge of the horse section and is bringing in new sections to her area. Alan and Sharon Penfold are keen to update the cattle section and Jodie Lane is bringing a totally new display encompassing diversification and sustainability to the show grounds.
Thanks to a State Government grant, entry will be free for children under 12 and children under 16 whose parents are agricultural society members. Entry for children over 12 and under 16 who are unaccompanied will be $5.
There will be all the usual attractions – main arena, exhibition halls, sideshows, horses, cattle, sheep dog trials and chooks and the show committee is hoping to bring a new surprise this year with details released soon.
Applications for indoor and outdoor trades space are being received. If you have a product to promote or something to sell, apply to the secretary and forms will be sent out.
If you plan to enter vegies or flowers your preparations should be well under way. This year Gladioli is the feature flower in the flower section, so get your bulbs and get planting to give Bert Jones a run for his money. He has walked away with the champion ribbon for many years.
There will also be a section for window boxes this year so get petunias and lobelias in and growing.
Look out for the show schedule which will be in the usual places very soon, or go to www.margaretriveragshow苏州美甲美睫培训 or write to Margaret River and Districts Agricultural Society office at PO Box 135, Margaret River. The office is unattended until a week before the show.
