Smithy and Eddie make the most of ‘Four Ball’

IT was a 4BBB Stableford at the Golf Club on Saturday.

There were 29 players, and the winners were Graham Smith and David Edwards with a score of 47 points. Runners-up were Clive and Mark Everingham with 45 points on a countback.

NTP on the 10th was a skinner, 15th was Graham Smith (.70cm), 18th was Mark Everingham (2.88m).

Ball comp went down to 45 points.

Sunday’s golf was a Single Stableford, with 46 players.

The winner was Ray Chapman with 41 points, Runner-up was Graham Smith with 39 points. Ball comp went down to 36 points and NTPs were, on the 10th Tony Gerry (2.21m), on the 15th Peter Cook (3.47m), and on the 18th Graham Smith (2.7m).

Wednesday’s Vets had 16 players and the winners were Nick McLean and Don McDonald with 23 points and the runners-up were Ron Harris and Clarrie Hillard with 22 points.

A grade NTP 1st hole 2nd shot was Malcolm Webster in the hole, B Grade NTP 1st hole 3rd shot was Marcus Arthur in the hole, A grade NTP 15th hole 2nd shot was Paul Cleary (.30cm) and B grade NTP 15th hole 2nd shot was Gary Murphy (.85cm).

Thursday’s Sporters Comp had a field of 35 players and the winner was Richard Glasson with 23 points and the runner-up was Malcolm Webster with 21 points. Ball comp went down to 17 points.

Pro Pin winner on the 18th was Matt Herbert (1.03m), A Grade NTP on the 11th was Richard Glasson (5.31m) and B Grade NTP on the 11th was Hugh Hamilton.

Friday’s Chook run had a strong field of 49 players.

The winner was Matt Dunlop with 29 points. Runner up was Sue Tribe with 27 points on a countback from Jamie Quinnell and David Lloyd. A Grade NTP was Greg Warden (.46cm) and B Grade NTP was Mick Wadwell (96cm) and Red Rooster Chook winner was Brian Carey.

Ladies’ Golf on Thursday was an 18 hole stableford, and the winner was Kaye Sage with 36 points.

Balls went to Sue LeEstrange, 34 points, and Lenore Coupe 31 points. NTP on the 2nd hole was Sue LeEstrange (84cm) and on the 10th, Lenore Coupe (430cm). Lenore also won the Hen’s Nest on the 15th (220cm).

Ladies’ golf on Saturday was an 18 hole Stableford and the winner was Chris Rose with 35 points. Balls went to Sue Tribe and Kaye Sage both with 33 points. NTP on the 10th was Trish Giltrow (410cm) and on the 18th was Lenore Coupe, in the hole.

The final eight players for the VP’s are:

Marty Lynch and Jason Quinnell versus Tony Johnson and Matt Tonkin.

Carl Manton and Peter Sullivan versus Leon Wise and Jamie Quinnell.

They must play their matches before September 16.
